From 12 to 17 December 2022, the Imarisha Dada Initiative (IDI), organised through Borotet Community Initiative, ran a week-long programme to empower the girl child at Sun and Shield School in Kabarak, Nakuru County.
The programme was delivered in partnership with the Government, NACADA, Ida Odinga Trust and Sprouted Hope. It covered sexual and reproductive health, menstrual health, personal safety, cancer awareness and vaccines, teenage pregnancy, mental health, academic empowerment, peer pressure, drug and substance abuse, cults, the effects of FGM, social media, health and hygiene, grooming, and social and dining etiquette.
Time was also set aside for psycho-social support, self-awareness and team building.
