Borotet Community Initiative is a non-profit, community-based organisation in Mogotio Constituency, Baringo County, Kenya, transforming lives through socio-economic empowerment, rehabilitation and capacity building.
OUR STORY
Rooted in the community since 2019
Borotet Community Initiative (BCI) was founded in 2019 by Rev. Dr Nancy Kosgei as a vehicle for development through partnerships. We work alongside religious leaders, local leaders, government agencies, community spokespeople, Nyumba Kumi teams, and women and youth leaders on programmes designed from a needs analysis of the community.
Alcohol and drug abuse has fuelled violence against women and girls, ill health, insecurity and high school drop-out rates. Through rehabilitation and recovery programmes, many people have reformed, bringing positive change and peaceful coexistence to families and the wider community.
An empowered community changed through training, mentorship and economic empowerment.
