Following the Government’s call for a country-wide campaign against illicit brew and drug abuse, leaders working through the Nyumba Kumi initiative have run successful campaigns in Mogotio Sub-County since 2019, and many addicts have reformed.

On 21 November 2019, Borotet Community Initiative, together with community champions, Nyumba Kumi leaders and local leaders, and in partnership with the County Government of Baringo and NACADA (North Rift), held an alcohol and drug abuse sensitisation programme at Kelelwa Hill Primary School. Sixty reformed addicts were enrolled in various Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.

The programme brought members of the community together, and four football teams played a friendly match.
